For his part, Robert Maersk Uggla expressed appreciation for Egypt’s diplomatic efforts in promoting regional stability, including its mediation in the Gaza conflict and hosting of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. He reaffirmed Maersk’s long-term commitment to cooperation with Egypt, recognizing the Suez Canal’s strategic importance and the infrastructure and service upgrades led by the SCA.
Uggla also highlighted Maersk’s confidence in Egypt’s investment climate, noting that ongoing projects reflect the company’s sustained engagement. Both sides agreed to deepen collaboration across key areas including maritime transport, logistics, container terminal development, workforce training, and knowledge transfer.
President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s commitment to an investor-friendly environment, encouraging Maersk to further expand its presence. Adm. Rabiee affirmed that the Suez Canal Authority is ready to launch new joint initiatives that strengthen Egypt’s role as a global logistics hub.
